Overview
The Solar System Walk is an enjoyable and educational 1km scale model of our Solar System. The walk begins at the Sun and disappears along a track through native bush. Alongside the track, model planets and their moons are located at the correct scaled distances from the Sun. Information plaques are located at each planet.
All objects are to a correct scale where the distance to Pluto has been reduced to 1km, and the objects themselves have been magnified relative to this scale 200 times relative to this scale to make them big enough to see!
The walk was created in associated with the Australian Research Council Centre of Excenllence for Gravitational Wave Discovery. The research centre in located near the start of the Solar System Walk.
